Discover how to prepare salmon in the air fryer

Preparing salmon in the air fryer is a culinary experience that combines simplicity and health in one recipe. It's the perfect choice for a quick dinner, as in just a few minutes, you can enjoy a delicious salmon dish ready to be savoured. Best of all, this cooking method does not compromise the exquisite flavour of the salmon at all. In fact, the result is a meat that is juicy on the inside and perfectly browned on the outside.

Benefits of using the air fryer for salmon preparation

Although salmon has traditionally been cooked in the oven or on the grill, with the growing popularity of air fryers, more and more people are turning to this new cooking alternative.

The truth is that air fryers work in a similar way to convection ovens. This means that the result is surprisingly similar to what you would get with a conventional oven. The added advantage is that, thanks to their more compact size, we can have our food ready in almost half the time. In addition, these fryers also greatly reduce odours and generate less mess compared to grilling.

Ingredients for cooking salmon in the air fryer

  • Skinless salmon
  • Parsley, rosemary, oregano and pepper c/n.
  • Salt to taste.
  • Garlic powder.
  • Juice of a lemon.

Method of preparation

Start the process by following these detailed steps. First, squeeze a fresh lemon and reserve its juice in a bowl. Then add the rosemary, pepper powder and a pinch of salt. It is important to make sure that you mix all these ingredients together so that the flavours blend harmoniously.

On a wooden cutting board, place the salmon fillets. Then, using a culinary brush, generously brush them with the seasoning mixture you have prepared previously. Remember that you are free to choose your favourite herbs to personalise the flavour even more.

If you have about 10 minutes to allow the salmon fillets to soak up the flavours of these ingredients, I recommend letting them rest in the refrigerator before transferring them to the air fryer. In the meantime, I recommend preheating the air fryer to 200°C for about 5 minutes.

In turn, cover the container you will use for the air fryer with baking paper specially designed for this application. Next, spray the salmon fillets with an oil spray and carefully place them inside the fryer.

Set the air fryer to cook for 15 minutes. However, it is essential that halfway through the time, at around 7 minutes, you turn the fillets over to ensure even cooking on both sides.

After 15 minutes, you'll have your delicious salmon recipe in an air fryer ready to serve. It's worth mentioning that if you want it more or less cooked, you can adjust the cooking time according to your preferences - time to savour this delicious dish!
